Why Kruger’s
For the finest retail experience anywhere, as well as stellar merchandise to accommodate any budget.
When you experience Kruger’s, the difference between us and every other jewelry store in town becomes clear. At Kruger’s you’re treated to service reminiscent of days gone by, before chain stores and strip malls dotted the landscape. This is because Kruger’s is local, family-owned and has been around for four generations. We make sure that everyone who walks through the door receives the kind of down-to-earth, engaged attention that’s kept Kruger’s going strong for over one hundred years. Our longevity and success is largely due to our committed staff, including those who have been with us for almost four decades. That kind of dedication lies at the heart of who we are and what we’re about.
We focus on bridal jewelry, walking couples through the process of finding the perfect rings to symbolize their love. Choosing engagement and wedding bands can be time-consuming and sometimes overwhelming; we use our expertise to make this an enjoyable experience instead. We always respect your budget and will work with you to find the perfect jewelry in your price range. Our goal is to help you make the most informed decision possible. Owner David Kruger has been buying only the highest quality diamonds for over 40 years. If you have any questions, David is almost always in the store (when he isn’t fishing) and looks forward to talking diamonds and diamond jewelry with you when you come in.
Kruger’s is grateful to the Austin community for its many years of devoted support. David, his daughter Rachel and the rest of the Kruger’s Jewelers staff devote time and money to many local and national nonprofit organizations — especially those focused on hunger relief and children — as a way of giving back. Meals On Wheels, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Communities In Schools and the Austin Area Food Bank are just a few of the recipients of Kruger’s Jewelers donations. The best way to answer the question, “Why Kruger’s?” is to come in. Mariposa, the store cat, and the rest of the staff look forward to meeting you.

Stories / Testimonials
I was blessed to be handed down an engagement ring from my great aunt. Knowing that I would need to get a new setting, I went immediately to Kruger's and met Rachel. I had a diamond (in an arthritic ring) and knew I would be proposing soon, but was scared to death to pick out a new setting. Far too many beautiful choices to select just one. With Rachel's help, I was able to get the diamond into another setting and make it beautiful for when I would propose. I am not a shopper and would normally not spend more than 15 minutes looking at anything. But at Kruger's it’s different. We laughed and joked and had such a good time that we returned later to take engagement pictures where we had created such a memorable moment.

Our experience shopping for Ash's engagement ring and our wedding rings could not have gone any better. The entire Kruger’s staff was very welcoming and knowledgeable from the moment we stepped through the door. I think their resident cat even gave us a meow. We were lucky enough to be assisted by Rachel Kruger. She helped guide us through the process from A-Z. She made what could have easily been a nerve-wracking experience into one that seemed almost easy and definitely pleasant. She even helped plan and execute the surprise surrounding the proposal. Not only did we find our jeweler, but also a friend.

It was an absolutely gorgeous winter day. The sky was completely clear and blue and there were icicles hanging from the trees. About two miles into the hike, I decided it was time to head back since it was getting late in the day and the sun sets early in the winter. I thought he was acting pretty strange at that point but got up and tested the log like he asked, to see if we could walk across the stream. When I turned back around to tell him that it was definitely not sturdy, he was kneeling. It hit me all at once. I realized that the Fiery Gizzard is where we had our first date and this waterfall is actually where we had our first kiss. Scott asked me to be his wife and I finally caught my breath and said, "YES!"

I purchased a ring from Kruger's almost 2 and a half years ago to propose to my, now, wife. When I proposed to her I wrote a song I called The Ring. Within the next year I signed a recording deal with a record company out of California. They loved my song, and when they found out I was getting married they wanted to shoot a video of my actual wedding. My wife allowed us to record the video at our wedding, and my song has received quite the buzz. I just wanted to share this with you all. To this day my wife receives compliments on her ring. It truly is a ring that has stood out without having to be a great big diamond. Thanks again for a great experience and hope you will share our experience with many.
